ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT FOR CHILDREN

A child’s first orthodontic screening should occur between age 7 and 8. A small number of children need treatment at that time. However, it is the ideal time to create a personalized timetable choosing  the appropriate time to start treatment. Total treatment can be reduced if we intervene at the right time.

METAL BRACES

Metal braces are fixed appliances made of stainless steel and are the most common choice among children. This type of braces are relatiely small in order to show less and allow for better oral hygiene. They are frequently combined with colored elastic ligatures, which we change in every appointment.

CLEAR BRACES

Clear braces are made of ceramic or plastic. They are aesthetic, nearly invisible and can be used in almost every orthodontic treatment. Clear brackets are popular among teenagers offering a more discreet way to straighten malaligned teeth.

Clear aligners are a new invisible form of orthodontic treatment. A series of personalized plastic aligners are manufactured to move the teeth to the ideal positions. They are suitable for specific orthodontic cases.
